Great day at the Shack today with Bill and Hector and a large flotilla of fishing boats that looked like the Dunkirke evacuation. Bill's work prior to today was very impressive. And we made even more progress to secure the Shack for winter. Another day or two of work with new fencing for dune reconstruction would be recommended.

Judge's Shack
Welcome! This blog celebrates the Judge’s Shack, a now unique structure within Island Beach State Park, Ocean County, New Jersey. Fishing shacks once populated the dunes of Island Beach and other barrier islands along the Atlantic Coast. For Island Beach, however, the Judge’s shack represents the final link to an age when professional people would hob-nob with rude watermen eking out a living in such a littoral setting.
